Join us as we welcome Helen and her daughter, Elisse Gabriel, to the North Canton Public Library for an unforgettable evening celebrating the resilience and strength of the human spirit.
Only ten to fifteen thousand Jewish children survived the Holocaust – 1.5 million did not. Helen Marks is one of the children who survived, and as one of the youngest survivors of the Holocaust, she feels a great sense of obligation to speak about her and her parents’ stories. Join us as we welcome Helen and her daughter, Elisse Gabriel, to the North Canton Public Library for an unforgettable evening celebrating the resilience and strength of the human spirit. Helen will share about her experience as a Holocaust survivor, and her daughter, Elisse, will discuss the book she wrote in honor of her mother, The Emerald Matchbook: The True Story of a Hidden Child.
